Guided Hike: History of Medina- A little river with a big past

Watering holes, classically known as a place to gather and gossip, attract activity from all ecological level. Whether thirsty rabbit, curious coyote, or hot human looking to cool down, water’s necessity makes it the perfect place for interaction.

The Medina River is no different. It has a rich history of human and animal interaction. It was the interaction of indigenous peoples centuries ago that saved the area from being drown by the creation of the Applewhite Reservoir.
